Identity â⬠I am an American, not an Asian-American Free Essays
ââ¬ËI am an American, not an Asian-American. My dismissal of hyphenation has been called race foul play, yet it is actually an interest that America convey the guarantees of its fantasy to every one of its residents equally.ââ¬â¢ What is personality? A considerable lot of us would believe that the response to this inquiry is basic however once positioned on the stop and requested to answer it, the appropriate response makes a greater amount of an issue than the inquiry. We will compose a custom article test on Character â⬠I am an American, not an Asian-American or on the other hand any comparative point just for you Request Now Character can be characterized from various perspectives and there is more than one personality. The most evident of these is an individual personality, in regards to one individual and their capacity to build up their character and find themselves. There are likewise social personalities, and aggregate characters. Normally character is to do with thoughts that are gotten from society and frequently requires some reflexivity for what it's worth to do with being a social being a piece of a general public. It is for the most part gained through social cooperation and the implications we choose of social positions and is regularly set apart through images. Personality is about likenesses and contrasts. These assist one with recognizing their feeling of self corresponding to other people who are comparable or unique. For instance it can help recognize particular qualities that make one unique in relation to other people, or distinguish a mutual perspective or physical highlights that make one like others. Character is about how we consider ourselves, others around us and what we think others around us consider us, numerous individuals would envision public activity incomprehensible without a social personality. Mukherjee experienced childhood in a Hindu, Bengali-talking and white collar class neighborhood. The general confidence in her origin was that ââ¬Ëoneââ¬â¢s character was fixed, gotten from religion, standing, patrimony, and mother tongue.ââ¬â¢ One didn't have to ââ¬Ëdiscoverââ¬â¢ their personality since it was unchangeable and one scarcely had an individual character. As the general public was one comprising of comparable individuals, there was a feeling of a common and aggregate character, regardless of whether not socially, in any event inside oneââ¬â¢s family it was shared. Her neighborhood had affected her character significantly, particularly while with respect to social divisions. For instance; sex. In the article, certain sentences clarify that Mukherjee originates from a male-overwhelmed society. ââ¬ËMen gave and ladies were given to. My dad was a patriarch and I a malleable daughterâ⬠¦I didnââ¬â¢t anticipate that myself should ever resist or baffle my dad by defining my own objectives and assuming responsibility for my future.ââ¬â¢ It likewise appears that class assumed a significant job in the social divisions of the aggregate character where she lived. ââ¬ËTwo orders my dad had worked out for meâ⬠¦marry the husband he chose for me from our standing and classââ¬â¢. She additionally asserts that intercaste, interlanguage and interethnic relationships were illegal inside their conventional culture. Indeed, even displacement was disliked in Bengali convention as it was viewed as a type of weakening genuine culture. It appears that a womanââ¬â¢s character was set by the personality (or status) of her dad, or after marriage; her significant other. Mukherjee likewise states ââ¬ËI was who I was on the grounds that I was Dr. Sudhir Lal Mukherjeeââ¬â¢s daughterââ¬â¢. It ought to likewise be noticed that Mukherjee decides to utilize the word ââ¬Ëwasââ¬â¢ instead of ââ¬Ëamââ¬â¢. This proposes she has in a manner cut off binds with her past personality. She presently considers her to be way of life as being American. Once in America, Mukherjee viewed herself as an Indian outside understudy who expected to come back to India to live. Her short and incautious wedding service drove her into a totally different world with respect to personalities and their significance. She felt cut off from an incredible methods in Bengal as she had accomplished something she never would have ever longed for doing. She presently felt as though she had clashing loyalties between two amazingly various societies. In America, ladies have more rights and take an interest in the public eye the same amount of as men. This was new to Mukherjee as she presently battled to locate her actual character; something she had never truly focused on. There had been an ongoing mayhem in America concerning things, for example, ââ¬Ëwho is an American?ââ¬â¢ and ââ¬Ëwhat is American culture?ââ¬â¢. These prompted issues including the scapegoating of settlers which further pushed Mukherjee into receiving America as her new country and following American culture. Be that as it may, Mukherjee done all with her own decision and in this manner pays attention to her citizenship very. The United Nations includes new individuals consistently, numerous ââ¬Ëold nationsââ¬â¢ now end up tested with ââ¬Ësubââ¬â¢ â⬠patriotisms. It looks increasingly more likely that there will be a making of more nationalities and individuals may lose genuine sight of what their country used to be. Numerous individuals in a single society don't have any acquaintance with one another or even of one anotherââ¬â¢s presence, yet there is a feeling of a ââ¬Ëcommunityââ¬â¢. Anderson (1983) portrays this circumstance as a ââ¬Ëimagined communityââ¬â¢. Individuals can't have the foggiest idea about one another and in spite of disparity there is as yet an envisioned important fellowship. One can, and has more than one personality. Goffman (1971) discusses impression the board and gives life the analogy of a dramatization. People are viewed as on-screen characters and assume a wide range of jobs. He accepts that they follow certain ââ¬Ëscriptsââ¬â¢ which are applicable in certain circumstances however not in others and connection is viewed as an exhibition to the crowd. This is known as his ââ¬Ëdramaturgical analogyââ¬â¢. William Shakespeare once broadly composed ââ¬Ë All the world is a phase, And all the people just players. They have their ways out and entrance; Each man in his time plays numerous partsââ¬â¢. This implies an idea, regardless of whether not broadly concurred with, to do with Goffmanââ¬â¢s thought has been around for quite a while. In the discussion of culture and character, the idea of office is a focal topic. Office is about decision, the capacity to practice this decision so as to shape our own personalities. Office is exceptionally identified with reflexivity; a post present day thought. Reflexivity is to do with the limit of people to ponder themselves, their activities and others around them so as to change or develop themselves. Mukherjee was raised in a domain where the thought of organization with respect to character didn't exist. Character was fixed, and one couldn't transform it. In this way, when she embraced her freshly discovered culture in America, she consequently was utilizing organization to pick and shape her own personality. Character is ever-transforming; it changes with time, place and an individualââ¬â¢s impression of the real world (Vithu Jeyaloganathan â⬠Sri Lankan brought into the world Canadian, b. 1991). An Indian lawmaker and organizer of the Indian Constitution ( B.R.Ambedkar) once said that ââ¬ËUnlike a drop of water which loses its character when it joins the sea, man doesn't lose his being in the general public wherein he lives. Manââ¬â¢s life is free. He is conceived not for the advancement of society alone, yet for the improvement of his self.ââ¬â¢ This might be illustrative of Indiaââ¬â¢s changing perspectives on the subject of personality and all the more critically, singular character. Impact Of Globalization On Education And The Context Of...
1. Introduction Education evolves with greater knowledge of the field, social contexts, institutions and political ideologies. The trend over the last couple of decades has been toward a neoliberal approach to education (Meadmore, 2004; Welch, 2010; Thompson Harbaught, 2013). While proponents of this system have suggested it is without values (Hill Kumar, 2008), this is not the case. Therefore, it is important to address the why and what of neoliberal values in the context of education. It is also important to recognise the negative impacts of neoliberalism on education and ways in which it can be mitigated. 2. Why neoliberalism has permeated education Neoliberalism rose to prominence in education following its rise in economicâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Perhaps the best example of these principles coming together is in independent primary schools. At this time, neoliberalism extends into the everyday management practices of school administrations. Much of this has been declared as a way of enhancing efficiency and accountability (Welch, 2010). Likewise, the comparisons of schools, performance-based funding, and compliance-based funding are neoliberal policies. These policies have proven problematic in education in three distinct areas: marketisation, managerialism, and the knowledge economy (Welch, 2010). Therefore, each of these areas needs to be addressed to understand the impact of neoliberalism on Australian education. 4. Who are the stakeholders? As with most institutions, vested interests have a hand in shaping education. There are more stakeholders in education with differing views on how education should run than in the past (Meadmore, Burnett Oââ¬â¢Brien, 1999). Education is driven by internal and external agendas (Meadmore et al., 1999), but the neoliberal agenda is a mostly external influence. In the Australian context, neoliberal policy is supported by a broad middle spectrum of politics (Forsey, 2008). Hill and Kumarââ¬â¢s (2008) identify the capitalist class and business as stakeholders. This is true, as under corporatism large interest groups wield stronger influences over states and organisations. Analysis Of The Song Atlantis By Bridgit Mendler And...
Deep in Atlantis Poetry, to many, is too confusing to waste time on. Given how detailed and complex many pieces can be, it is understable as to why people think this way. Poetry requires thought and analysis, depth and rhythm, emotion and intrigue. In order to fully grasp a poem, one must analyze its meaning first. However, we live in a world surrounded by poetry, even in places we do not acknowledge. Books can be poetry. Advertisements can be poetry. Songs can be poetry. Poetry is all around if you choose to look hard enough. Then that poses the question, what exactly is poetry? How can something that isnââ¬â¢t seen as a poem be considered poetic? The song Atlantis, written and performed by Bridgit Mendler and Kaiydo, can be considered as such for a variety of reasons; including itââ¬â¢s ambiguous tone, rhythmic speech, and itââ¬â¢s desire to be interpreted. In a sense, poetry is language condensed. Short sentences with great meaning that needs to be unpacked and unfolded in order to see what a phrase truly means. In music, both lyrically and cinematically, actions and words can have a deeper meaning than they initially carry and what can be assumed from a first glance over. Poetry makes people think. It isnââ¬â¢t as simple as its surface level may seem. In poetry everything has a meaning. The author placed a line there for a reason; it brings something to the story. Poetry, also, is not limited to just one interpretation. It can be interpreted and analyzed on a plethera of different

Services marketing Essay Example For Students
Services marketing Essay Services Marketing A service is the action of doing something for someone or something. It is largely intangible (i.e. not material). A product is tangible (i.e. material) since you can touch it and own it. A service tends to be an experience that is consumed at the point where it is purchased, and cannot be owned since is quickly perishes. A person could go to a cafe one day and have excellent service, and then return the next day and have a poor experience. So often marketers talk about the nature of a service as:Inseparable from the point where it is consumed, and from the provider of the service. For example, you cannot take a live theatre performance home to consume it ( a DVD of the same performance would be a product, not a service)Intangible and cannot have a real, physical presence as does a product. For example, motor insurance may have a certificate, but the financial service itself cannot be touched i.e. it is intangible. Perishable in that once it has occurred it cann ot be repeated in exactly the same way. For example, once a 100 metres Olympic final has been run, there will be not other for 4 more years, and even then it will be staged in a different place with many different finalists. Variability since the human involvement of service provision means that no two services will be completely identical. For example, returning to the same garage time and time again for a service on your car might see different levels of customer satisfaction, or speediness of work. Right of ownership is not taken to the service, since you merely experience it. For example, an engineer may service your air-conditioning, but you do not own the service, the engineer or his equipment. You cannot sell it on once it has been consumed, and do not take ownership of it. Western economies have seen deterioration in their traditional manufacturing industries, and a growth in their service economies. Therefore the marketing mix has seen an extension and adaptation into the extended marketing mix for services, also known as the 7Ps physical evidence, process and people. Physical evidence is the material part of a service. Strictly speaking there are no physical attributes to a service, so a consumer tends to rely on material cues. There are many examples of physical evidence, including some of the following: Packaging Internet/web pages Paperwork (such as invoices, tickets and despatch notes) Brochures Furnishings Signage (such as those on aircraft and vehicles) Uniforms Business cards The building itself (such as prestigious offices or scenic headquarters) Mailboxes and many othersProcess Part of the Marketing Mix Process is another element of the extended marketing mix, or 7Ps.There are a number of perceptions of the concept of process within the business and marketing literature. Some see processes as a means to achieve an outcome, for example to achieve a 30% market share a company implements a marketing planning process. Another view is that marketing has a number of processes that integrate together to create an overall marketing process, fo r example telemarketing and Internet marketing can be integrated. A further view is that marketing processes are used to control the marketing mix, i.e. processes that measure the achievement marketing objectives. All views are understandable, but not particularly customer focused. For the purposes of the marketing mix, process is an element of service that sees the customer experiencing an organisations offering. Its best viewed as something that your customer participates in at different points in time. Here are some examples to help your build a picture of marketing process, from the customers point of view. Going on a cruise from the moment that you arrive at the dockside, you are greeted; your baggage is taken to your room. You have two weeks of services from restaurants and evening entertainment, to casinos and shopping. Finally, you arrive at your destination, and your baggage is delivered to you. This is a highly focused marketing process. .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569 , .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569 .postImageUrl , .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569 , .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569:hover , .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569:visited , .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569:active { border:0!important; } .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569:active , .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569 .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u6c0e088035dff7b28d8fab307b985569:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: The Necklace: A Closer Look at Character EssayBooking a flight on the Internet the process begins with you visiting an airlines website. You enter details of your flights and book them. Your ticket/booking reference arrive by e-mail or post. You catch your flight on time, and arrive refreshed at your destination. This is all part of the marketing process. At each stage of the process, markets: Deliver value through all elements of the marketing mix. Process, physical evidence and people enhance services. Feedback can be taken and the mix can be altered. Customers are retained, and other serves or products are extended and marked to them. The process itself can be tailored to the needs of different individuals, experiencing a similar service at the same time. Processes essentially have inputs, throughputs and outputs (or outcomes). Marketing adds value to each of the stages. Take a look at the lesson on value chain analysis to consider a series of processes at work. People and the Marketing Mix People are the most important element of any service or experience. Services tend to be produced and consumed at the same moment, and aspects of the customer experience are altered to meet the individual needs of the person consuming it. Most of us can think of a situation where the personal service offered by individuals has made or tainted a tour, vacation or restaurant meal. Remember, people buy from people that they like, so the attitude, skills and appearance of all staff need to be first class. Here are some ways in which people add value to an experience, as part of the marketing mix training, personal selling and customer service. Training All customer facing personnel need to be trained and developed to maintain a high quality of personal service. Training should begin as soon as the individual starts working for an organization during an induction. The induction will involve the person in the organizations culture for the first time, as well as briefing him or her on day-to-day policies and procedures. At this very early stage the training needs of the individual are identified. A training and development plan is constructed for the individual which sets out personal goals that can be linked into future appraisals. In practice most training is either on-the-job or off-the-job. On-the-job training involves training whilst the job is being performed e.g. training of bar staff. Off-the-job training sees learning taking place at a college, training centre or conference facility. Attention needs to be paid to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) where employees see their professional learning as a lifelong p rocess of training and development. Personal SellingThere are different kinds of salesperson. There is the product delivery salesperson. His or her main task is to deliver the product, and selling is of less importance e.g. fast food, or mail. The second type is the order taker, and these may be either internal or external. The internal sales person would take an order by telephone, e-mail or over a counter. The external sales person would be working in the field. In both cases little selling is done. The next sort of sales person is the missionary. Here, as with those missionaries that promote faith, the salesperson builds goodwill with customers with the longer-term aim of generating orders. Again, actually closing the sale is not of great importance at this early stage. The forth type is the technical salesperson, e.g. a technical sales engineer. Their in-depth knowledge supports them as they advise customers on the best purchase for their needs. Finally, there are creative selle rs. Creative sellers work to persuade buyers to give them an order. This is tough selling, and tends to offer the biggest incentives. The skill is identifying the needs of a customer and persuading them that they need to satisfy their previously unidentified need by giving an order. Customer ServiceMany products, services and experiences are supported by customer services teams. Customer services provided expertise (e.g. on the selection of financial services), technical support(e.g. offering advice on IT and software) and coordinate the customer interface (e.g. controlling service engineers, or communicating with a salesman). The disposition and attitude of such people is vitally important to a company. The way in which a complaint is handled can mean the difference between retaining or losing a customer, or improving or ruining a companys reputation. Today, customer service can be face-to-face, over the telephone or using the Internet. People tend to buy from people that they like , and so effective customer service is vital. Customer services can add value by offering customers technical support and expertise and advice. .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3 , .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3 .postImageUrl , .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3 , .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3:hover , .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3:visited , .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3:active { border:0!important; } .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3:active , .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3 .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .udd8fba9b0a2956d1050eb50ae02b1ce3:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Good Versus Evil EssayServices Characteristics the features of services that distinguish them from tangible products; these are intangibility, variability, inseparability and perishability.
